Default Cam Tower Seal Replacement how-to

Yes by Jove, the saga goes on and on. While doing the MMs/OPG I need to replace the cam tower seals, underneath the covers on the ends of the heads. The original rubber gasket seals are obsolete, replaced by hard caps. I understand these go under the covers, where the rubber gaskets went. It seems that these will be a press fit. How best to insert them? Precautions?

Post 3...Mrmerlin explains, "If you replacing the end seals they are blck and about 2 inches in diameter then you can loosen the cam cap bolts about 3 turns then pry the old ones out and install the new ones then tighten the caps back down...."

I'm doing the same job today...I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks Mike; I would be very grateful to know any tips or things to watch out for. I'm doing it this weekend.

Mike...how did it go? How did you manage replacement of the rear seals?
