Seems to be a common malady with SoCal events. We can only get folks to show up if we offer to provide workspace, loan the tools, do the work, feed the guests, and add beer as a bonus sometimes.

Good news is that i drink diet Pepsi. It's cheaper than designer bottled water these days, but still higher than petrol at the petrol store. Water is over $1 for 1/8 gallon bottle there. Wow! Refining costs are lower too. So what do we complain about?

Well, Just got back home and cleaned up, what a great day this turned out to be. Dr. Bob and Oscar showed up at Robs house and with their assistance and in being in no hurry, the four of us knocked out,

1. tranny fluid change
2. oil change
3. PSD flush--(unscheduled but direly needed)
4. New caps and rotors (thanks for sacrificing your hands Oscar)
5. Topped off the Freon so I can survive the summer (maybe)

in a mere 3.5 hours or so. Thanks again guys for all of the help and going above and beyond with the assistance and knowledge. This is the reason I can continue to keep and drive my car. All fluids looked good (except the PSD, WOW, was it bad) and I am a happy camper. No photos this time. It was a lot of fun and an extra thanks goes out to Rob for the use of his garage and tools.

Glad to have been of help.... We should schedule another session soon. Next time you boys are invited to this side of Hwy 74. I need to finish the 280Z project and we'll have plenty of room. We can do a timing belt, motor mounts, intake removal....we can even paint a car just probably not in 3.5 hours.

Great day, gentlemen! We knocked out everything so fast I took the liberty of changing all the cooling hoses on my station wagon with the remains of the day. Bob, hope the P-cars event was cool, I should have come up......

Oscar-

Thanks for making the trip over, it was great meeting you. We will definitely have to make an Ortega run to Lake Elsinor for a clinic at some point.

Ron- So how's the A/C? Inquiring minds want to know!

It blew pretty cold on the way home after soaking while eating. It still doesn't feel as cold as Dr. Bobs did but I am going to get a thermometer and play with it this week. I will post temps and see where we are at. Thanks again for the extra stuff guys!!

Ron/Rob--

Verify please that the charge port covers were put back on the car. Oscar and I were tag-teaming the hot-part refit, and I'm drawing a blank on when/if the covers were put back on. I put them on the tool box that was right in front of the car while we charged it.

Today is not a great day to brag about AC performance. Outside temp reading in Pasadena just before noon was almost 100. Car sat in the sun for over an hour while I walked the Ferrari street show. Still cool right away on restart, but still took a mile or three to get seriously cold air. In seconds it was better than standing out in the hot sun though. R-134a, ten year old conversion, for those playing at home.
