Yes. In several heads I have seen seat has been stuck in head and difficult to remove. It needs to come out when 944 S2 oil check valve is installed. Its part number is 944 107 139 00. They aren't cheap but its one small detail at fight against 2/6 bearing failure and I think worth installing for bearing protection.

"Professional installation required!"

What exactly is required? Is 928 head mounting point smaller, same size or larger than what 944 pressure valve needs it to be?

I would say that if the seat is tight dont try to force it out and leave it alone, there are many 32 valvers running around without problems, it seems the problems arise after the heads return from machine work, they are either tried to remove and not or the cleaning process loosens them, If it loose I would apply the green loctitwe to it and restake it into th head

On the simpler side, did you notice the 40+ rubberized washers, grommets and o-rings that secure the valve covers? Check with Roger...he should have the rubberized washer replacements that cost pocket change each instead of $5 each.

Do you know why this 944 oil check valve is considered an upgrade? The 968 (superseeding the 944) uses the 928 parts number rather than the 944 one. I should think Porsche would use the best one? Also, there are no bulletins from Porsche that the 944 part can be used on the 928.

968 needs full oil pressure to head for Variocam adjustment. I think thats only reason they were deleted in 968.

In 928 heads receive too much oil on high revs and 944 S2 valve should limit it considerably. Legend says 928 Cup cars used these valves and I think some have installed them into street cars without any issues. AFAIK head shape is such that they can be directly installed once old parts are removed. Or at least some 32V heads seem to be "ready for them". Only problem I can see is if they are more prone to allow oil to drain back down to sump from head than simpler ball & spring setup. Heads certainly
