And ten depression sets in..............
Oh no gearbox woes. So usual crap 5 speed gearbox change issues so i thought lets change the oil so I know its done right. Ordered the Swepco and got stuck in and look what was attached to the magnet on the front drain plug !
WTF is that?? very springy and not very thick but none the less I would rather not have pulled a piece of steel out of my gearbox. Anyway changed the oil it was really bad and then test drove it. Could hardly notice any difference which is undestandable as its obviously had a bit of a life. So it looks like my wheel money may be going on gearbox work.
OH well the joys of 928 ownership.

reverse lockout...most every 5sp has that attached to the magentic plug...keeps you from inadvertantly shifting into reverse...if you have no probs shifting..no worries....

Just be thankful it did not pass through the gears !!! it missed as it dropped from the top of the gear box to the bottom....

I'll bet most 5 speeds have them broken off. Very common.
My GT had it's attached to the drain plug.
Funny, the track car one is still in place.
