Well after some driving I do still have the hesitation and the stumble; however, after opening up the bypass about 3 turns it is better.

Marton, are you referring to the rubber O-ring that the air flow sensor when you install the air cleaner/sensor assembly?
Mine seems really loose.

On another note - Since I put these new silicone hoses on, I don't like them! They just don't look - Porsche!
You guys may think I'm crazy but I'm going back to the braided hard line. I heard Hacker talking about Wurth hose.

Does anyone have a list of separate sizes and lengths?
I just got a kit last time so I don't have the sizes.

Thanks for the help,

Your car doesn't have the AFM. You have a MAF and different computers, so the adjustment isn't the same. Stumbling could be from a lot of things if you haven't gotten into it yet: plugs, wires, vacuum leak...

I'd say start a new thread with your symptoms and people can help you narrow it down.

No I mean the one that is in the centre of the motor that the intake assembly plugs into
- Maybe you did not remove the intake assembly? I had to remove mine to comfortably get at all the vacuum hoses.

The rubber O-ring that the air flow sensor plugs into should not be really loose; there is a sort of hose
clamp thing on that that you must tighten up?

I replaced the O-ring for the AFM tonight. It seems to be better but I will know in the morning when it is cold. I noticed that there is oil in the bottom of the air guide housing - is that normal?

I also checked the hose clamp around the intake throttle body boot. It's tight but there is dirt caked on it everywhere. I suppose it's time to get the rubber sleeves and a throttle body boot and start replacing things. Problem is, once you get started on one of the "adventures" it's hard to find a stopping point

Thanks for the help from everyone.
Cheers,

Yes, just give lots of gas & you will see the oil emerge as a large cloud.

Replacing the guide housing O-ring and opening the bypass on the AFM another turn (4 turns total) seems to have minimized the problem. Yesterday and this morning it only hesitated once when cold. Another 30 minutes of driving and it did not happen again. The stumbling seems very minimal - more like a jerking or surging but very slight.

I don't think it is fixed, but that I have just minimized the effect. I am kind of leaning toward replacing the AFM next.
Any feedback on the problem or next steps?

Thanks for the help,
