Default OB rear spoiler

Ive had a look for threads but removing the rear spoiler seems difficult, does anybody have any photos and a walk through description of what is involved. 1983s

Many thanks

No pics, but have removed mine and is not difficult. Fpr the corners there are 2 nuts located underneath (from rear/outside) and one on back inside which can be seen with hatch up. For the center piece the nust are located underneath the inner trim for the hatch. These have a goo applied to keep water out so you will need some when put back together. Window seal works well. Hope this helps.

Just to clarify, since I just went on a treasure hunt for these. The center section, as he said, is under the trim on the inside of the hatch (mixed screws and nuts on my '85).

The hard ones to find were the corner pieces, there's an obvious screw on each side with the hatch open, then, take a flat screwdriver, and fold up the rubber on the bottom and there's a philips screw near the front, and another near the middle, and lifts right off. Don't tear apart your interior trying to find it like I did. :P

If it were an OB it wouldn't have spoilers at all, so you must be removing the S spoilers from a car to make it LOOK like an OB... And again we have a GREAT reason to call a car w/o spoiler an OB and one WITH spoilers an S... You will have holes where the S spoiler is attached to your S car... OB cars don't have those holes because they don't have spoilers.

Took me to till the 4th post to get here...man, I am losing my touch.

Nah, it's an old post. I just revived it to add info on how to remove so hopefully I can save someone trouble of figuring it out or damaging something.

And maybe more importantly, maybe save a mediocre paintjob because someone decided to paint around the spoilers rather than take 30 minutes to pop them off. (Like my car's Previous Owner).
