Default Black Headlight Rings

I just came across this option code," # 496 Black trim - painted headlight rims " while looking up another option code. Has anyone ever seen an OB 928 with the headlight rings painted in black? I haven't, but it may be a feasable option to cut down on the bling factor of the chrome rings. Does anyone have a pair of spare rings they would be willing to part with for the cost of shipping? I would think there would be some lying around from an 8" upgrade. If so, I will paint mine just to see what it looks like.

Thanks

that's weird - I was just thinking of this exact thing today. I was at my mechanic's shop this morning, looking at all the 911's and the headlight configurations, and they have a ring painted the same color as the car. I was wondering what mine would look like with the chrome rings painted the color of my car? Any computer wizards out there? If you do this Fabio, please post pics...

it could be possible that the option code you mentioned is for a 911 series

Anything is possible. I got the code from 928 option decoder list. Either way, it may turn out to be an idea for others.

Since the rings are chromed plastic you can not powder paint them they would melt.
