86' metallic green 928 in the Tahoe-Carson area
A few months ago I pulled into the Home Depot in Carson City, NV and I saw an 86' metallic green 928 5-speed pulling into the spot next to me. I had seen the car around the area from time to time, and since it was now parked next to me, I struck up a conversation with the owner (name escapes me) and I mentioned I owned an '87 5-speed. He told me he was a certified Porsche mechanic and that he had a shop - an old converted gas station - in the Zephyr Cove area of Lake Tahoe and he'd welcome the chance to work on my car. I gave him my card, and he wrote his number down on a scrap of paper (which I quickly lost). About a month later I drove my S4 up to the area where he said that he had a shop but I couldn't find it anywhere. I looked in the phone book, spoke to a few shops, and asked them if they knew the guy or the location of the shop and no one had a clue. I had hoped to run into him again but so far no luck...
It seems like maybe in hindsight he was BS'ing me - but why? He seemed to know what he was talking about and his car was in nice shape....
Does anyone in the area know this car/guy?

I've no idea but next time in Tahoe I'll do a little searching myself. I live east of Placerville and ski Heavenly weekly. Hey, You might make it a "Sharks at the Lake" event to find this guy! Kinda like a scavenger hunt in cars. Sharks swarming all over Zephyr Cove.Too bad I'll be in Florida during this event so close to where I live.
