Bill, you made my day when you suggested the lock motor, not sure if this is it, but once i removed it I noticed all of the hardware was not the same (one different washer out of 4) so this things been out before!

Finally got the door open and what bites is that i do not know what triggered the unbinding! Now I have to re-install lock motor, re-attach all pieces and go thru this process again......

After a couple of hours of doing lock picks on this and that inside of the door lock mechanism, I noticed that after the lock motor was removed (leaving the lock motor moment arm attached to the main lock mechanism), while my gal was working the key and I was inside of the car observing the movement, it appeared that when I held the lock motor moment arm in tension (pulling), the locking system appeared to work better.

Then I noticed that the door latch moment arm was engaging (the door latch moment arm is adjustable verses the lock cylinder (plastic piece) moment arm is not adjustable). Well decided to adjust the door latch moment arm to be in tension as well (as it was in compression when orginally observed), and what do you know, everything appears to be locking and un-locking via key operation (the drivers side door/lock/key had not worked since ownership).

I have not cycled the lock motors (battery still disconnected) because I’m currently too happy with just the key working the locks. I'll try the lock motors tomorrow.

Thanks Bill Ball for pointing me toward the lock motors adjustment b/c it was one of the culprits!!

Update,

Finally got the central locking system to work. Took most of the day yesterday to ferret out the culprit and found it was the rubber sheathing that surrounds the electrical wiring exiting the lock cylinder. It was interfering with a locking latch….wow!

I'm so HAPPY!

Thanks Martin!

Its sweet being able to finally lock the entire car with a turn of a key in either door.

Now I can pursue installing the key fob remote lock/unlock feature...
