Default A nice, quiet drive to lunch...

So I brought the GT to work for the first time this year, and my buddy and I decide to go out to lunch. It's nice a sunny - a Sombrero's chicken chimichanga kind of day. Of course, I drive. We hop on I-84 east for a quick 3-exit ride ot the restaurant.

Well, wouldn't you know it, but from the entrance ramp, we see an older 964 Carrera (2? 4? couldn't tell) flying in the fast lane. I continue my getting-on-the-highway acceleration and we catch up in no time, at which point I see we are doing an even 120 mph.

So the boys want to play! Fine - we start working our way around traffic until they get caught up in the right lane (or lose their nerve?) and we get beside them. We look over - all smiles and thumbs up - and it was like looking into a mirror. They were a couple of late-30s guys out having some P-car fun on the way to lunch, just like us. An odd moment, but of course it was refreshing to see that we are not alone.

Sorry, but there was no mano-a-mano 964 vs 928GT acceleration duel, I'm afraid. There wasn't open road for it. All I can say that I was playing with them in 5th gear (I forgot to shift because I didn't need to - I only took fourth to ****** the open middle lane from them.

Exhilarating and refreshing!! I love this car!!

Just the other day I was behind a 997 Carrera S. Man those are pretty fast! I could easily stay with him though and pull him a little even with short-shifting below 5k RPM. Only problem was when we had to brake, you could tell I was a good deal heavier when my ABS would kick in and front tires started screeching (although that car's tires aren't much bigger, 235/35-19). I need more than 225/40-18 in the front

It's funny though, that car would *kill* my former '86.
