Default specs on tapping oil pan for baffle

I need to know how to tap my oil pan (1988 S4) to add the pan baffle. Where it fits is obvious but what size thread and the depth and recommended type of fastener would be a great help.
Thanks!

I used a 6mm-1.00 tap. bolts were aprox. 3/4" in length. Take your time to drill the holes straight as I remember there is not a whole lot of room for the drill to wander. Did this a few years ago and when I took the pan off recently it all still looked good. Now the debate is does it do any good to install one? Dont know for sure but I liked the idea when I did it.
