Clock Question
I recently replaced my old digital clock with an analog. Seemed easy, just reconnect 3 wires. One to run the clock, one for the clock light and one ground.
The clock runs, the clock light comes on when I turn on the headlights. However, I just noticed that the clock stops when the clock light comes on ( whenever I turn on the headlights).
Did I miss something or is this a faulty clock?

General Rule for Automotive Electrics:
Anytime that weird things happen, check the grounds.
Sounds as if the clock is grounding thru the light circuit. When you apply power, the ground is no longer there.
Grounds are the brown wires.

There are aftermarket VDO "cockpit" analog clocks for ~$30 that would be OK if you don't mind a round clock vs the rectangle version that the early cars came with. I need to get out the little scale and see if the 2 1/16" VDO will hide all the corners of the hole left when the digital clock is removed. This is a red needle over black face and white numbers, a good color match for the gauges in my dash.
Many moons ago I use these VDO "cockpit" gauges in a hand-built street/parking-lot racer. At thet time they offered a nifty trim ring with 4 fake hold-down screws molded in. Very nice look. VDO called them their "jet cockpit" series. They would look out of place in a stock 928 cluster or console.

Jager is prototyping a circular clock replacement panel to match their aluminum/SS trim pieces:

I think it looks great.

Anybody: I will contact Jager to see what they have. SS trim on clock itself sets it off, but SS backing plate doesn't go with my interior. If anybody has suggestions for supplier of analog clock I would appreciate it. Round is ok as long as it has face plate to cover old opening.
After I replaced my digital clock with the Analog one(Original Porsche one from 928spec), I added the Jager AL piece around it.

JERRY- I noticed you installed the AL cabin temp sensor cover. I need to replace mine in black. How did it install and were you pleased with the quaity? My concern is that it will peel off in a year or two.
The quality is fine. Actually I have tried a few times to remove it to check out the look. It is on there so secure that I have never taken it off. It is attached by small strips of adhesive that seem to work well.
Jerry, that is absolutely one of if not the best dash covers i've seen. If I could be garanteed that type of outcome I'd get one.
