Default More toys

There have been a few threads here lately about diecasts and Transformers and such.

This is my collection. No, they're not all 928s, but they are all Porsches. There are about 600+ in plexiglass cases on my home office wall in these photos, hundreds more in boxes in a closet. I think I have right around 1000 total, give or take a handful. I've been collecting them since I was a little kid. Yes, I have really always wanted a Porsche!

They're all Hot Wheels / Matchbox size. Some are old, many from the 80s, a few from the 70's and even 60s. When the internet happened, a whole new world opened up, and I have some from Japan, England, Germany, Brazil, etc.

Sorry for the nasty glare. Each of these are in their own little compartments, with mirrored backs no less. I sux as a photographer and couldn't find a good angle. (Nice display cases btw...I buy them here: http://www.888pickkns.com )

Wow>

I just picked up an old Hot wheels tote box filled with 54 Hot wheels sized 928's of varying makes and colors. The guy wanted $3 for them but I felt guilty so I paid him $10 including the case and 2 1/43 scale 928's.

Is there any value to these?

Yes, but not much more than maybe $25. I'm arriving at Newark at about 6PM, and can come pick them up. Do you take American money?

Mine looks like that but ALL 928 related. I think I counted 500 or so 928 cars before I packed them all up to move. That of course doesn't include all of the mint still in package stuff. ...or the 50+ plastic models...rolls of posters...

Geez, now that I think about it, I have more 928 stuff than I can think of. I had a full display case packed with stacks of boxes next to it to the ceiling and also in the garage.

One of these days I will have a room completely dedicated to all the 928 stuff I have collected over the years.

Good for you! Nice to see I'm not the only one obsessed with these things.

zrated those are beautiful!

I have resisted the urge to collect the larger scales. I do have a 1:8 Pocher 911 (993) kit, which has been sitting here teasing me for about 5 years. It's about 21 inches long. Maybe I'll get around to building it this summer.

It is possible to take this whole Porsche toy thing too far tho: http://www.scaleautoworks.com/356fourcam.html

Now I'm jealous!

These are some of the 928s...now I just have to remember where they all go. (Yes, I have an obsessive-compulsive diecast condition)

If you don't get around to the Pocher model I will take it off your hands.

I have built 5 of them mostly the older models. I built these back in the 70's. I have the RR Sedance coupe, Fiat, 2 alfas and a MB 550.

The prices on these models have gotten outrageous although the $75-150 I paid back in the 70's wasn't cheap. They look great in a Lucite box. But at nearly 3000 pieces for some they took a little while to build.

Thanks, Got lots more, especially of the racing models. You are indeed lucky to be able to display your collection. I'm in the process of putting together some cabinets that will enable me to display approx 600 models.

Here's an image I've posted before. I've since added a few more colors to this phone collection but haven't had the time to photograph them.
