Angry Inside Smell

I have a '93 GTS that has a "hot metal" smell when sitting for a while with the windows closed -- even when cold and sitting for days. The car has been to my mechanic and throughly washed down. I don't notice any oil on the underside. I've looked at the posts on the 928OC tips and checked them all to no avail. Any thoughts?

I'm not sure what a 'hot metal' smell would be Bob. Perhaps you mean a hot oil/petroleum smell?

Is the smell eminating from the cockpit itself, or entering the cockpit from the engine compartment or from under the car?

A leaking brake master cylinder/clutch slave cylinder can allow brake fluid to enter the cockpit near the driver's side firewall - perhaps?

I've checked -- and no leaks. It goes away when running, doesn't bother me, but wreaks havoc with my wife. Maybe I'll trade in her....
