No dome lights! HELP
I have no dome lights in my 81'. The door lights work. I have voltage at the front light socket, but when I put in a known good bulb it does not light. The rear is broken at the wire connector and the live end is taped off. Is it possible the dome lights are in a series circuit and the broken connector at rhe rear is my problem? Help!

No functional connection betweent he front and rear dome lights.
If you examine the body of the dome light carefully, you should find that the switch has three positions.
Power comes into the light on the red wire. It is always on.
The power goes thru the bulb.
The switch has three positions:
Not connected - bulb off in all cases.
Connected to the brown wire - bulb on in all cases.
Connected to the brown/white wire - bulb on with door or hatch open.
Be careful installing this light - it is all too easy to short the red wire to the car's roof.
