Post Noisy Suspension

Any one else have this problem? The suspension is noisy..It groans and creaks when you drive it. Is there a way to stop this? Can you lube up or grease the suspension components like the shafts of the shocks etc? Any Ideas? Thanks in advance this group is the best...Bill 84 928s

How old are your springs? Mine squeeks when I'm at low speed and go over a bump, but my suspension is quite old. How about your bushings?

Cool

If its from the front, it is most likely bad ball joints. If the rubber boots tear and the grease runs out, your car will sound like a rusty farm tractor. Mine are bad...

Barry and Norm...Thanks for the replies.Barry I have only owned the car since last May.I would guess that the shocks and springs are originals. They look quite old anyway. Normy, I had the oil changed 2 weeks ago today and at that time the mechanic and I went over all the suspension components ball joints ,boots ,rear axle boots ,and the alternator connections. I did notice that the ball joints are the grease less or should I say the grease nippleless variety. Thanks guys I'll see if I can find where the irritating noise is coming from...tnx Regards

If its on the front of the car...have you checked the headligths? Excessive play on the headligth assembly can produce a very similar noise. Mine did.

Has there ever been any work done on your car that required revoval of the transmission and or torque tube? It is possible that the rear upper control arms are installed incorrectly and they are rubbing on the sway bar. This had been done on my car and it took me a long time to find it. the upper control arms should be installed with the curves going towards the ground. I have pictures on my website that show this problem. I hope it is not the problem on your car
