Post Sunroof Leaking

Two years ago my sunroof was sitting low on the back end. I adjusted it per "928 FAQ by Stéphane Chabot". http://homepages.apci.net/~slyjay/FAQ928.htm
It worked fine until this July. Now the aft end is too high. I took the lining off and was attempting to adjust the sunroof again when... I can no longer get the roof to close all the way. I am not sure if it is a switch, motor, transmission or cable problem. I sometimes need to hit the switch several times before motor will engage. It moves most of the way under its own power like nothing is wrong, but needs some help from me near the front end. I attempted to use the emergency handle to close it the rest of the way, but I cannot get the screw on the transmission off. Anyway, I was able to get it closed by relubing the rails and pushing up on the roof while hitting the switch. It would move the transmission a little bit at a time.
Has anybody had to deal with this type of problem before? Is there a trick to getting the emergency handle screw removed? Also according to Greg Nichols site, http://www.nichols.nu/tips.htm
I need to clear the sunroof drains. I can see where they start, but where is the other end?

Sounds as though the closing problem could be related to adjustment as well as transmission screw tightness. Be sure to check that the screw is TIGHT.

Intermittant operation is probably switch related. These can be cleaned up with limited results.

Cleaning the drains is pretty straightforward - the forward drains exit just aft of the front wheels. The rear drains exit somewhere in OZ...well, maybe above the tranny centrally just forward of the tranny itself. Use weedeater cord for best results.
