Cool

Just wanted to update you guys on what I found under the hood.

The cross brace is bowed slightly, but not as much as the picture indicates. That's a really bad picture, I'll have to take a better one now that she's mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maintenance records show that the original Temp Sensor in front of the intake was replaced and spliced back into the wiring harness.

The drivers side air tube is fine, but the pass side tubing is split where it fits onto the airbox. Doesn't fit too tightly, kinga wiggled around so i put a zip tie on it and it's snug now.

The vac formed panels in front of the windshield are missing and I'll have to replace them.

The cover for the coil on the right is there but the cover for the battery connections on the left is missing.

The oil breather hose was replaced about 15k miles ago acording to maint records. It looks lfine in real life, almost exactly like Andrew's.

The intake boots will be replaced whether they need it or not. They look to be in pretty good shape.

The shiny bolt on the pass side fender was removed at some point. Don't know why, none of the other bolts show signs of removal. No indications of body work or paint touchup anywhere on the car.

I also found that I'll need a new airbox or at least some way to keep this one shut. Two of the plastic tabs that hold the rubber straps are broken off, one in front (right) and one in back (left). Any ideas?

No obvious fluid leaks anywhere including his garage floor and driveway. I wiped down the engine as best I could before I every started the car. let it run for probably half an hour while i was doing other stuff. checkedit again, no fluid. Took here for a pretty hard test drive, including about 15 min high speed (90MPH) interstate driving. Didn't feel safe going faster than that in Wisconsin where the limit is 65. no signs of leakage after the test drive from either the engine or the transmission. maint records show numerous seals being replaced around 100k including the cam tower seals. the tranny was rebuilt about the same time and only has 20k on her since so it's fine. I'm noticing that first gear is a little tough to get into at times, but nothing to worry about.

Thanks again guys, couldn't (wouldn't) have done it without you!
