928 Mechanic....
How does one become a 928 Mechanic? Is there a some type of school that could provide such an education? I only ask because I am very interested in purchasing a 928. I have been viewing some boards and it seems like they need a fair amount of maintence. I would like to do all maintence myself, but I feel I do not posses the skill and the knowledge that are required. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I would say that if you can work on one car, you can work on another, if you have manuals to help you.
Buy the factory workshop manuals and use rennlist for extra help.
If you have never worked on a car before, there will be a steep learning curve, but it is bearable (I know). Maybe you can find some good books on working on cars in general.

Austin,
Get the books, $300.00+.
Get the 928.
Get to work.
IMO Qualified, reasonably priced 928 wrenches are as rare as hens teeth. And to be lucky enough to find one within a two hour drive of where your Shark decides to lay down on you is really asking a bit too much. This site and others can help you over the rough spots. I have some extremely minor gigs to work off my sHARk a cherry 82', and my daily driver.
She has yet to let me down (knock on wood).
Can't speak for others but my sHARk is utterly reliable. Try it you'll like it!
P.S. My worst fear, other than a high velocity shopping cart, is some ******* who decides if he/she can't have a beautiful 928 why should anyone else - just prior to keying/knifing/bricking MY SHARK!
