hey everyone,
i think i got a bit of a problem. The vin number by the hood latch on my supposed 1983 928s euro, is WP0ZZZ92ZCS840538...I have read several reviews and they say that the "C" denotes the year 1982. However, the title, the registration, and the previous owner all say the car was a 1983 928s euro, implying the presence of the 310hp motor and 3 speed a/t. However, the vin #, would be suggesting the car was a 1982 928 euro(right?)...and therefore would have the 234hp motor. This is just my logic..but i would really like to know, what year the car is and what kind of engine were talking here. Thanks alot in advance.

That sure looks like a VIN for a '82 Euro. Your car was built approx. 500 cars ahead of mine. Check the number stamped on the engine block to see what engine you have. M28.12 is the 4.7L CIS 300HP auto trans engine used in both '82 and '83. I beleive '84 was the first year for the 310 HP twin distributor engine.

Kewl info, but I think the '83 and earlier ZZZ cars had the M28/11 and 12 engines, which with CIS were rated by the factory at 300 Hp/ 263 ft/lb. The '84's had the new LH Jetronic injection [read: troublesome!], which allowed higher compression = 10 more hp and 32 ft/lb more torque.
