Post wannabe ?'s

My wife currently owns a 944 and I love driving it. I've been a fan of porsche's ever since "risky business". The problem with the 944 is that although it's a nice car I need more power. I've been thinking about trading in my bmw and getting either a 968 or a 928. The 968 because of the 6 speed and the 928 becuase of the v8( there is no substitute for size). Can you swap the 5 speed for the 6? And is there a site where I can research the differences between the various models and years? thank you

Get a 944 turbo
It is possible to swap a 968 tranny into a 944/951, but I dont think its possibly to swap a 968 tranny into a 928.

Wink

Get a 928
With all that torque you don't need a 6-speed transmission.

Unhappy

Everyday closer to that 928GTS I get the better I feel. Right now I am really missing that "letz git it on" grunt of the 928.

993 is alright but it ain't no 928 by any stretch...

Get an older 911, my man

Nothing, and I mean NOTHING compares to the raw power and screaming sound of the 911 engine at work (especially near the readline!)

Stay away from the Turbos and go with a Euro engine if you can get one. The newer 996 cars are nice too but overpriced.

Disclosure: This post was not meant to offend any fellow 928-lovers. Just expressing my personal preference.

Cool

I agree with the guys. Get the 928. You won't regret it and others on the road can't stop starring at you as you fly by.
