Default Hatch release problems

Hey all got a question for ya all..........I am finally getting around to working on my own car (the shop has slowed before spring) My hatch on my 84 is giving me headaches trying to get it adjusted. No matter what I do it does not go down far enough........that being said when it is closed all the way I can pull it up and open with a slight bit of effort without truning the key to unlock it. Any ideas on where I am going wrong adjusting it?????

Thanks

Hatch bumper adjusters too high? Check them first.

Are you talking about the ones on the side of the hatch? If so I have them taken out for now. That is is great idea and it was my first thought.

THanks !!!!

look inside of the female end there might be a piece of plastic broken off .You can also remove the male end with 2 bolts and try closing the hatch to see if its contacting the seal also check along the top edge of the seal as it can come off the metal channel and cause the hatch to bind

That's the ones, When I bought my 87' I had to adjust each of them a half turn to get the hatch to lock correctly.

On a side note- Lots of Brian's own 928's - Kinda wierd, not used to so many of us.
