Default More Wire Questions

There is a white wire and a blue wire that runs along the rear of the car, bundled with the old phone chord, and they both go to a little white harness connector that contains a red wire and a black wire. The blue wire and white wire are both snipped up front near the CE panel, so they aren't connected to anything. They might have been part of the phone? Should I reconfigure the little white connector harness in the back so that the red and black wires are re-attached properly (see the other white harness connector with a red wire and black wire not plugged in)? I'm thinking I should just remove these white and blue wires, reattach the red and blacks, and plug it all back in?
Btw, what is that fat black thing behind the connector - part of the old phone?
Also, I do not have any after market stereo components or other stuff installed afaik; car is MY86

The red and white wire and both parts of the white connector were added. Odds are that big bulge is a signal amp and was powered by the black and red ...ground and power. It should NOT be conected. If you follow the wires there are no doubt spliced in or simply connected to the battery.

You are welcome just get rid of the extra wires eliminate the "jumpers" from the battery terminals. They are probably NOT fused anyway which is not a safe way to add wires to ANYTHING
