'88 928S4 Club Sports in U.S.
Shane brought up the '88 Club Sport in Darien's thread about finding a nice '88 shark. I figured I'd post this as a separate topic so as not to hijack his wtb thread. Here's a description of the car I saw, I was wondering if any of you know of this car.
I saw one of the mythological '88 928 Club Sports at a PCA show outside of Boston in Gloucester MA around '92 I think it was. I recall it was Marine Blue or a similar color with a lighter blue stylized 'CS' on the top of the front fender. It had aftermarket forged 5-spoke racing wheels painted blue to match the car. It was my favorite car of the entire show by far (well, aside from the 917s) and I spent the afternoon drooling over it.
I should go dig out and look thru my pictures from way back then and see if theres a slight chance I have a picture of it. Anyone else ever seen or know anything about this car?

From what we have been told about the two in the states is they are both Guards Red.
It is possible that someone added a CS sticker to their Marine Blue shark.
A check of the vin, engine number, and option sticker would tell us if it would be a real CS or a wannabee.

I suppose it is possible that it was a replica, although from what I recall it was in a concours class as an original limited edition club sport, and it had a little plaque describing what it was. This was a while ago, but I can look for some old photos of mine to see if I can find any pictures.

From what I understand there are TWO in the USA......I think one is in Utah & the motorsport guys know the car.... I don't know about the other one...... There is a Euro registry of the CS 928's...that lists the VINS of the 2 USA cars.....he posts on here, but I can't remember the site or his name? (shocker)

Wasn't the CS ONLY available in Red, White and Black? I recall it having a very small color palette.
If the above is true, then a Marine Blue CS would be verboten, and a replica. AKA an S4 with a $30 sticker.

Two red US CS confusion probably comes from fact that US magazine test drive articles featured red cars. They were ROW models from Porsche test fleet with German plates. They were not same cars as actual two US model CS's.
There were only few basic colors but anything was possible. Samuel's '89 CS is metallic blue for example. UK SE (S4 Sport) model were not made in any other color than factory listed few possibilities AFAIK.

Examples;
Samuel's CS has electric seats not the sports seats.
My anniversary edition 928s has no sun roof(supposed to be standard fitting).
Plus you can find many models delivered in colours which were not specific to the year of manufacture. &&&&

White with 4500 miles at the time I signed over the paperwork. There are three for sure and probably a fourth from what I can tell in the states as of about 2002. Maybe someone got another one or two but I can guarantee the one I had was primo. It still smelled like brand new.
