Post Brushed aluminum dash trim kit

Has anybody tried this? The guy claims he can also do wood and carbon. Needless to say not all pieces will fit all years...

Also note there are brushed aluminum and chrome gauge bezels available - rather tacky, especially in comparison with Paul Jager's high quality gauge rings...

Hi Nicole, The only problem with this is, it is most likely very thin Aluminum sheeting with adhesive backing. I weld aluminum for a hobby and the thin stuff like this will curl up with time. I worked in a sign shop once. And they even have thinner stuff easy to cut with a PC controlled cutter the does all the complex design cutting. I think that film was all plastic. I would never pay that much for stick on film, even if I had money to burn. Its nice that 928 trim is out there but all he had to do it scan the pieces into the computer to scale and have to computer cutter do the work. It would only take 15 to 20 minutes to cut it out. I spent 2 hours welding my inside door handles each is made out of 1/4 inch aluminum, they are strong and clean up well and look great!
You could e-this dude and have him send a small sample of the film? Be careful!
Aways, Brittany Li

Hi Brittany,

Do you have any pics of the interior of your car...?

Would love to see how the door handles look!

Thanks,

Theres something just not right. I can't place it but I have a feeling this item is a little sketchy. I wouldn't buy it - Maybe if they had a picture of a 928?......

Hi Brittany:

Thanks for the information! I wasn't really interested that much into the aluminum, but the auction had stated they also offer other materials, such as wood and "real" carbon fiber. I have a carbon fiber tip-shift **** from Jager engineering, so I thought the carbon look would go nicely with the rest of my (grey) interior.

Later, I noticed they also had a carbon kit for the 928 on ebay, so I emailed them. Especially, I asked them if they make those to order. I wanted to know, if a hole in one of the pieces could be omitted, as I would not need it in my car. They said I could just circle it on the diagram, and they'd make the set without the hole. Later, I realized that I'd need some different cutouts in the piece that goes on the panel with the clock and rear AC controls. I'm not sure, if I would want to go through making this work.

Most of the pieces I would not use anyway - I'm mainly interested in the pieces for the center console, and maybe the door handles.

Cool

I saw that on Ebay as well- it sounds like some sort of rubbery material- they say that it can go around corners with ease.

-I test drove a Boxster with a friend before I bought my 928S2. It was more than disapointing performance-wise...it had a really tacky looking stick on graphite-look dash kit.

Trust me- don't do this to your car unless you've seen the kit installed on someone elses vehicle first!
