Default Cary/Apex, NC Coffee and Bagels

Tomorrow morning, a few of us Rennlisters and 6speedonliners and PPBBers will be meeting at the Bean & Bagel - small and informal gathering. I'll get there by 7:30 am and we'll probably wrap up around 10:00 or 10:30 am.

A link to the B&B website is below. It would be great to see a 928 owner or two at our get-together. So far, we have 996, Cayman S, Boxster and 997 represented.

Hope to see you there!

Bob

Great question - For me, it's about 20-25 minutes to drive out to Camilles. We go to the 1st Saturday of each month because it's a huge event (with the Italian car owners). But, with limited time on the weekends, an hour lost for just drive time isn't always optimal. Also, I've found that there are a significant number of Porsche owners in the Cary/Apex side of town who also choose to stay closer to home.

The great benefit to building a close-knit Porsche community in Cary/Apex is that we'll be able to extend the reach of PCA information to people who haven't participated before and hopefully get them to Brier Creek at least 1x per month.

It's a practical solution to a real life issue, albeit a minor one.

Hey, guys,

Charles and I talked about getting a group together to spectate or participate in the Hurricane Region's charity concours at the Ingram Collection in Durham. It's Saturday from 8-10 (you might want to check the PCA website/Hurricane Region for the details). It's $25 the day of the event to enter.

I propose we meet at Bean & Bagel by 7:30 - they open at 7:00 am, for those who are ambitious.

Post if you're interested in going. If you'd like to see what it looked like last year, there are pictures posted under the Hurricane Region's photos subdirectory.

Sorry for the delayed follow-up, everyone. Here's a link to the photos from the concours at the Ingram Collection this past Saturday. I've also included a couple pictures of Michael (911 SC) and Charles (996) driving east on 540 to the event.

Enjoy.

You even got a picture of my 928. I feel famous now!!

It's the red one in the beater lineup. That's me in the yellow shirt w/ the Braves ballcap on (right side of pic).

BTW, the Ingram Collection is breath taking. Every car is low miles and rare. First time I have seen a 959 in person.

And that location is a only a small part of it as I'm told.

Hi, David,

As of the concours, you're sort of celebrity to me. I was told by Kevin (don't know his last name, but he owns a red 944) that your red 996 was the first 996 delivered to the Raleigh area in 1999. It looks great! I have a 1999 black 996 with an aero kit (not shown here) that I bought used last November. I absolutely love it.

It was a great day. I am blown away by the Ingram collection - especially the 959. It was like meeting a Hollywood celebrity. Bob Ingram was great, and he told us that there are only 8 959s in the U.S.

Oops. I just read your posting again - I now know that you're talking about the red 928. I want to reassure you that I still hold you in the highest regard. I love 928s!

Yeah, that's my 928 way in the back!!

Bob is a super nice guy, a millionaire several times over, and talks to fellow car guys like he has known you all his life. You would never know he owns well over 100 hi-dollar Porsches (not to mention the other makes of cars he owns), he is totally down to earth.

True, that 959 is jaw-droppin' beautiful.

I'll be at the Bean & Bagel this Saturday morning. With it being the Memorial Day weekend, I suspect many of you will be out of town. But, for those who are in town, let me know you're coming. I'll be there at 7:30.

If anyone is interested in meeting at the Bean & Bagel and then taking a 1-1/2 hour drive (round trip), let me know. I'll map out a route for Saturday.

I'm at Parade in Charlotte, and it has been amazing. Today, I'm headed to the Heritage display that the factory has put together - historic Porsches! Then, I'm headed home after 4 terrific days at Parade.

If you're in town for the 4th of July weekend, I will be at the Bean & Bagel in Apex bright and early Saturday morning. Hope to see you there!

Here are some pictures from today's events. It was great to see everyone today - thanks for coming out and driving over to Brier Creek. See you next weekend!

Just saw this thread, and as an Apex, NC Porsche owner, I'd love to see more of you in the Cary/Apex area!

Great to hear. I hope you'll join us one Saturday morning. You can usually count on 5 or 6 good Porsche people talking cars at the Bean & Bagel.
