Does anyone own the Porsche child seat? I would like to see how it looks and possibly buy one or two (probably costly???). I had a hard time finding a child seat that fits on the back seat and the one I ended up getting does not fit perfect. My little girl really loves to ride in my shark.
regards,
Sab.

Well, I have just done one belt, other one tonight. Mine is an 83 Euro BTW, and it has the 5/16 UNF thread for child seat restraint immediately behind the backrest, and the rear upper fixings in the rear pillar for the soulder strap, so they go back at least that far.
Inner receiver/buckle - the originals have a flex in them, so they can tuck into the cavity when not in use. The only replacements I could get with the right length were rigid steel straps, so I had to bend the mounting end a bit so the socket was easy to access with the cover on the centre tunnel. Apart from that, it was easy. Nobody here does a retract unit small enough to fit the outer mounting cavity, and the fact that the belt goes back at an angle meant that it wouldnt retract very well anyway makes retracts a non starter, unless there was a guide straight above it (like the front belts). Result is a bit untidy, but it will work, and pass inspection I hope. On full length setting (of a std belt), I can just get the belt on while seated there, and I hope I dont have to carry anybody else my size in the rear.

Guys

I just went out to garage (cause you got me second guessing myself now) and put the shoulder harness bolt into the rear piller and it fit fine. All seatbelt bolts have the same thread, inboard, outboard, etc. Whatever you want to call it, kids seat rear strap, or rear passenger shoulder strap, its all the same. Same mounting point. I'm getting rear seatbelts and updating my 79. Just make sure you get the correct rear bolt and mounting hardware. Good luck.

Hi Folks,

Installing the rear shoulder belts on my 87 is on my short list of things to do. For those of you in the process of doing this, it would be very helpfull if you could supply some part numbers, and maybe even a picture or two.

Thanks!!

Randy
