Post O2 sensor counter

Mine won't reset, keeps going click-click click. I've tried using ballpoint pen and various other objects but no success.,According to all previous threads, this counter really does nothing except activate the dashboard light at 60k miles. From this, I would guess that unplugging the counter will have no affect at all on performance, emmissions etc?

Yep! I think you're right. That endless clicking was driving me nuts! I disconnected it (at the box next to the passenger seat) last year and haven't noticed any difference - except for the silence. I say unplug the darn thing and don't look back.

does this click sound like it comes from the right front area?..definite click click that slows/speeds up with acceleration? Mine does...and it is nothing in/near/associated with the front wheel...it drives me nuts because i can't locate it.

Jim-

That's it. If you take the cover off between the passenger seat and the passenger door, you will see towards the fron of the car the counter for the Oxygen sensor. You can just unplug it. No more clicking! Cheers!

Thanks everyone, silence at last.
Jim, the clicking is speed sensitive, the faster you go, the more it clicks...off with it's head!!
