want to run some valve cleaner through my 928. Typically I use Berrimens (sp?). Have heard good things about Lubri Moly Ventilreiniger. Is this available in the US? If not what would the list recommend.

I don't think that the Liqui/Lubro Moly "Ventil Sauber" is worth importing, if it isn't readily available in the US.
It's not a bad product but probably not superior to the domestic products.
I seem to recall that a bottle (~12 oz) of that Liqui Moly stuff retails at about 5 Euro in Germany...

I can get it here in Indy from International Parts, it costs $5 a bottle. You can also get it from performance Products for the same price. I however prefer Techron or Redline. Redline is available at Pepboys and is red liquid in a clear bottle. I have also heard good things about the amsoil cleaner, but have had no experience.

I've used it - you should be able to find it at auto parts retailers. I got it from a Porsche mechanic who recommended it. I ran a double dose on a half tank of gas, then one dose each on half tanks. Afterwards, compression was near perfect and the engine seemed to have more power.
Don't forget to do an oil change after running the valve cleaners. This is a good time to do a Rislone treatment - it helped a lot in my case, and I plan to have it done again with the next oil change.

Yeah I was planning to do both...a little valve cleaner and some Rislone. One question...some folks just idle with the Rislone for 30 minutes and then change the oil. Others drive for about 300 miles then change the oil.
What is the best procedure...and what is safest for the engine.

I had my Rislone treatment done at DEVEKs DynoTech, and my understanding is that they drove the car really hard for a little bit with the Rislone in the oil. This makes perfect sense, since the Rislone is supposed to flush out the system, so it probably needs higher rpms and oil pressure to work properly.
It worked wonders on my car.

yeah..searching the archives again...
Just picked up some of this...
Saw a post where Greg Brown put some in Randys GTS and it seemed to work very well. (was hidden in a thread about front sway bars)

I still use that Ventilreiniger every now and then - it seems to work really well, and make the engine run (idle) more smoothly. Sometimes I have to run two tanks with it to get the desired effect.
Again, I've been told it's a good idea to change the oil after running the Ventilreiniger - particularly after running it multiple times.
I think in Germany this stuff is called Liqui Moly Ventilreiniger.
