Default Help Help Help ! (wheel size question - rv)

Hiya All,

By now all of you must be getting a bit rattled with me and my basic questions.

However this Glaswegian Lass has got as usual some alloy issues !

Basically I have found the following:

Keskin Rims with sizes,

FR 8.5 x 18 ET52 (5 x 130) and RR 9.5 x 18 ET52 (5 x 130)

Will the above fit my S4 ? This is the million dollar question ? Can someone please relieve me of my confusion and ignorance. I need to know if there are going to be any issues with them ?

Also if they do fit then whats the maximum size tyres I can mount on these rims. I would like some wide tyres on them.

Thanks ever so much.

Nadine

the wheels should work. However, the fronts are a bit wide and the rears are abit narrow, I have the 997 Carrera C4 wheels and they are 8 X18 and 10 x 18 with Ft 235/40-18 and Rr 265/40-18. You could actually fit an 11 in rim in the back but an 8 up front would make for a more happy steering less tramling, the offsets should also work. It might be more helpful to poat your car info in your avatar IE year and if its an auto/stick

On the rears, I don't think it would be safe to go any bigger than 265x35x18. Just my 2 cents

Your local tire supply can tell you the maximum tire for the wheel. I have factory turbo twists on mine with 265 / 30 - 18's on the back and may be able to fit 275 or 285. I have 225 / 35 - 18 on the front but wish I had more up there. (they are due for replacement this spring)

edit: mine are 8's on front and 10's on the back

I don't think that you are going to fit a 275 or 285 on 9.5x18 rear wheels. They might fit, but the wheel is not wide enough to be safe. The biggest I would go is 265x30x18 to be safe.

Yep 265 is the safe limit...
Think you will need around a 10 - mm spacer on the rear with that tire size, so it looks 'right'... but check 'Andrew Olson's' wheel fitment calculator.
Particularly with the fronts... 235 is a good size for a 8.5 inch rim... but with an ET of only 52, they could stick out....

225/40-18 will work at front but in my opinion wheel sticks out too much. But this doesn't prevent using those wheels if you really want to. Just be prepaired to accept non ideal steering feel. Besides those wheels are heavy.

You did mention that you had 18x10 rears. The poster Nadina indicated that the wheels she was looking at were 18x9.5 rears

I have those wheels on my GT, with tyres 225/40 and 265/35 front and rear. Can't say if you can put anything bigger on, but would go with the advice others have given.

Can confirm that the front offset is less than ideal; the tyres do stick out a little bit, and the car is quite eager to follow ruts and tracks in the road surface. Haven't driven it with any other wheels, so don't know how much worse it is compared to standard wheels.

Here are some pictures so you can see what it looks like on the car:

Cheers,
Erling
