Living in a country with speed laws that do not agree with this is another matter.
The highways would be a lot safer if those grandma's and soccer mom's would learn the left lane is for passing only and to stay off the f*cking cell phone.

Not really - the 928 was designed for high speed interstate travel.
Living in a country with speed laws that do not agree with this is another matter.

Holy crap, my heart was racing and I'm just watching the vid. I have run from the cops once back in college and will never do it again. Real stupid. Especially in a red exotic plastered with graphics that can be seen (and heard) from miles away. The guys who manage to run these rallies at a steady 80mph without stopping except for gas, usually do the best.

It is usually when you try to "show-off" that things happen like in the Ferrari clip. That's why I decided never to "show-off"... As a result, I never had an insurance claim.
Same here... I can't say they were nasty, but they DID write me a speeding ticket in 1999. The good thing, though: At the time speeding in Kansas was a real bargain!

"The highways would be a lot safer if those grandma's and soccer mom's would learn the left lane is for passing only and to stay off the f*cking cell phone."
I'm not talking about pushing it a little in the fast lane, I'm talking about running from the law and passing in and out of 3 travel lanes including the emergency strip in heavy traffic. That is wrong even on the Autobahn....
Peace, I'm done with this thread.

San Mateo Herald ..." Bay City News
A 23-year-old Burlingame man received a sentence of probation this morning in San Mateo County Superior Court after pleading no contest to vehicular manslaughter in the January death of his 20-year-old girlfriend in a high-speed crash on U.S. Highway 101.
Agreeing to the findings of a 90-day state prison evaluation, Judge Craig Parsons assigned a three-year probationary sentence to a visibly relieved young man, but warned, "If there's such a thing as a zero-tolerance probation, this is it.''
According to the District Attorney's Office, the accident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on Jan. 14 when the gentleman was driving with his girlfriend Trillian Crin, also of Burlingame, on northbound Highway 101 near Millbrae Avenue.
Driving a Dodge Viper, he allegedly came up behind another car in the fast lane and, apparently frustrated that the car was going too slowly, passed the car on the right. As he swerved back into the fast lane, he lost control and spun into the center divider, killing Crin, who was in the front passenger seat, according to prosecutors.
According to California Highway Patrol investigators, two witnesses in separate vehicles on the highway estimated the driver going well over 100 mph at the time of the crash.
No drugs or alcohol were involved, according to the CHP.
In July, the driver pleaded no contest to a felony count of vehicular manslaughter and admitted a special allegation of inflicting great bodily injury on another, which makes this a first-strike conviction under California law, prosecutor Aaron Fitzgerald confirmed.
At an Aug. 25 sentencing hearing, though prosecutors asked for a two-year prison term, Crin's mother specifically asked the court not to send Gage to prison. She said though she was devastated by her daughter's death, Crin would not have wanted to see him go to prison, Fitzgerald said. ..." Felony conviction that makes job applications fun , precludes numerous job options , eliminates the need to decide who to vote for , and he is still open for civil damages. Plus gets to live forever with the knowledge that he is responsible for killing his girl friend. Driving real fast on public highways sure sounds like fun...until it is not. The guy was lucky that the prisons here are over crowded , that the victim's mother did not want him to do time , and the judge was "lenient" . However the ""If there's such a thing as a zero-tolerance probation, this is it.'' probably will limit how much fun he has driving for the next three years with two years of prison time hanging over his head. Just be aware of the real risks of driving real fast it is far more than just a ticket or some damage to your car...

"+1" for mr bailey's comments cause your bent 928 parts aint no good too.
but if you blow a motor or belt "somehow", I'm looking for a good set of track wheels - 18x9 and 18x10.5 w/decent offsets, maybe paintable, nothing too fancy
might help offset the fine, lawyers, etc...

Agreed the first video shows a LOT of stupidity. Just pull over for the nice officer and get it over with, kids. That GT sounds sooooo nice.
Kempf and the late Mohr drove like that sometimes...
I will be coming down to SITM with the New England 928 gang (like the last few years), and we drive safe and not stupid. Our goal is 0% problems. Knock on wood.
p.s. meeting point at mile marker 1 of BRP at 9am friday of SITM!!

Well, he lit the lights and I hit the gas. Went through a neighborhood and I don't know how he knew where I shut it down to hide, but he ended up right behind me. I was thinking at the time, "well, ****, I"m going to jail"
He took my license, read me the riot act about speed and running in to a house and my comment was "I road race the car, I know what it's limits are, but damn, I can't believe how fast you were catching up, all I saw were the red/blues bouncing off the houses, you were catching me so I tried to hide"
He leaves to his car, comes back and asks me if I had been drinking, I stated "Yes" him-"how much" me-"a couple of pitchers" (I was stupid on many levels then).........he then asks me to step out of the car and I did, in to a full spread, hands on the roof, legs apart..... He laughs at me out loud, as says "not that way", hands me my license and tells me to get home and never do that again.
Soo, yea, one KS cop was nice to me.
