Post 928 parts in UK?

Guys,

I'll be in the UK next week and was wondering if there is a walk-in-with-cash-walk-out-with-parts outlet for 928 parts?? (specifically those little plastic power window guides and a few other odds and ends)
I'll be based in Basingstoke but will have a few days in London as well.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Reinhardt,
If you dont find a source, one tip I was given is to wind a cable tie around the post and the window nylon mount, and tighten until rattles go away. You may need to readjust the bolts in slots to get the glass true in the door frame (closed), but its easier than dismantling and replacing the nylons - BTDT. Also, last time I bought a LH nylon bush, it was part numbered as a LH, but it was actually a RH unit.

Alternatively, find a source of parts in UK that will do mail order by Credit card, and have them sent to your hotel or location you are staying. I have done this in the past. I have used Berlyn Services , but he is in Devon. I have tried to email Prestige Parts, but the email address bounces as bad.
JP in Riyadh.
PS your email address gave me trouble from here???

Thanks for the advice, John. I'll try the fix if I fail to locate a parts source over there.
I had endless trouble sending you email and had to give up in the end. I would like to set up some sort of user group for 928 owners in the kingdom (there have to be at least 10 of us).
If you have any thoughts on this please drop me a mail on ra1@rocketmail.com.

Thanx

Cool

Reinhardt,

Why not try www.design911.co.uk ?? It seems they are located somewhere in the London area and also have a really nice website.

....It must be a bit cold coming directly from Saudi to the UK?!

Happy parts hunting!

Reinhardt,
I suspect there are very few 928 drivers here who would be interested in meeting up much, despite the numbers. My Oz friend has 5 here, but he only lurks on the list, never seen him raise his head in public so far. I have lately seen a white S4 in Riyadh driven by a european, but dont know who he is. Recently saw a black S here on Swiss plates, driven by somebody wearing a ghutra. So far the dealer here (Samaco) is almost useless - all they stock for 928 is oil filters, and they are SR79, vs $5 in US. Are you going to be in UK over Eid?

John,

Here in the eastern province I'm aware of 5 sharks including a GTS (all western owners). The reason why I had this idea is because Samaco are ... well, useless. They wanted to charge one of the guys here SR18000 for a crank - he found one in the states for SR4000.

This is the idea. We don't have to meet up all the time... just pool our resources and help each other with information to maintain our cars. Samaco is clearly not the answer.

And, yes. I will actually be in the UK over Eid. Need anything?
