Headlight raise/lower mechanism

Headlight raise/lower mechanism
I live in Colorado Springs and am the owner of an '84 S (AT) that is currently in the body shop (some nidget in a pick-up ran light). The extreme passenger side front corner was damaged (fender, headlight, fog lamp and other minor pieces).
The body shop cannot figure out how to re-assemble the new headlamp assembly with its raise/lower mechanism so that is is aligned with the other one and raises/lowers to the proper spot (equal to the one not replaced). I have the service manual CD set and have not found too much info on the subject.
Anyone had any experiences with the re-assembly of the raise/lower mechanism that could point us to the right place? Would be greatly appreciated (they have had my baby for 64 days now - I miss it)

Three Wheelin'
I hit a horse about 15 years ago with an 84 S and it pushed the passenger headlamp back. When I raised the headlights from that point on, it never came up as far as the drivers side. I never saw an adjustment for this and assumed I had twisted the long tube that goes between the headlights.

i took my headlamp covers off and lense out due to a repaint and noticed that we could not get the base of the headlight off the car w/out taking the front quater panels off. i also noticed that the left right light headlamp cover had rub marks when the light was up and when compaired it to the right front, it was not completely centered (therefore causing the rub on the headlamp cover). there are 2 bolts/nuts that can be loosened inside the engine bay on the shaft that rotates the headlights to adjust the lenght of the shaft that opperates the headlight base. once i did this, no more rubbing.
i also know there are rubber stops that may be adjusted for the up and down opperation, you may have one of those missing. those are my experences so far w/ the mecnahnical opperatio of the headlights..........
