aero mirrors ????
I am back to working on my 928 body modifications. I have fabricated the front spoiler, boxed rockers, fiberglass S4 wing/hatch, and a functionial "Ram Air " hood. I am interested in installing. the "aero' style mirrors to complete the updates. That said does anyone have a new or used set for sale or is there any info on a supplier.
Thanks in advance, DAVID

Do you like to build models?
Because thats what the int, kit is .like every part has to be assembled, and i do mean every part!
i cheated left the electical part out. = )
Also do a search for the assembly of the kit if you get it from them (not supplied in the kit when i ordered. not kool!!)

Installing Aero mirrors on a pre S4 is electrically challenging...
Installing to a flag equipped S4 is quite easy by contrast.
There are adaptation harnesses but be sure you know what to expect - it is not plug & play (or even close...)

I have a 928 with the aero mirrors and one with the flag mirrors. I agree, the aero mirrors "look" cooler, but they "do not function as well". As a friend who also has both says: "If you like looking at a TV set with the upper left 1/3 of the picture absent, then you'll also like the view behind you through the aero mirrors". Just my view (I'm not changing the GTS to flag mirrors!!! - ha).

I'm having a repaint done to my car and currently have the flags (88s4); when I removed the flags there were 8 (?) wires to cut (they were previously cut and sodered back together). I may be upgrading to the aero mirrors in the future and was wondering is their a quick release plug offered to mend my current flags mirror wiring so that if I wanted to convert to aero in the future, I could just snap them in.
Also, are the wires color-coded the same with the same number of wires from flags to aero mirrors.

Assuming you have a Pre-S4 - No - its much more complicated than that....
Someone - not sure who was offering a conversion harness - but I presumes it assume you are starting out with the old flag connectors. It must include some relays because the old flag mirror only had a single motor and a changeover solenoid for L<>R to U<>D plane selection. The newer (S4+) flag mirrors and the Aero's have two independant motors one for each plane of motion.
The wiring is not exactly the same color scheme between any types but is similar between S4 flag and Aero, it is quite different in color and function on pre S4 flags - the connectors between each of the 3 types are also different.
I presume some here have done this Pre S4 upgrade - though many have also essentially transitioned from electric flags to manual aero's for this very reason...

Allen,
Thanks for the input. Its an 1988 S4 and I'm pretty sure there were 8 wires (definealty more than 4 wires) but since i don't have the car here ( its at the painters(60 miles away)) i'm going by memory. the motors opperate w/ 2 wires in each direction (= 4) plus grounds(?) for each direction (=4), therefore 4+4=8. I guess there is a quick connect plug for 8 wires and figure out from there?
