Just thought I'd pass this along. No affiliation. Costco.com is selling this for $299.00 after $100 rebate. I think it's only an online offer. Might be worth looking at for a good 928 NAV system!

- From 2008 Review on Amazon.
"I worried that the maps on it would be from 2004. I emailed Garmin customer support, they replied in 24 hours and said that Nuvi 650s are now shipping with the latest maps - the 2008 City Navigator North America NT mappping software. If, by chance, I happen to get a unit that doesn't have the latest maps, when I register my unit online I will be able to order a free update to the latest maps. "

I have been looking at Garmin GPS's since my dad bought a 360 about a month ago. I was very impressed with his so i have been looking to buy my own. I was pretty stoked when i saw this thread so i did a comparison between the 650 mentioned here and the 360 and basically the only advantage to buying the 650 over the 360 is that you get a bigger screen (4.3 vs. 3.5). Everything else is an exact match other than the 360 having the bluetooth capability.
The Bluetooth with the 360 is a selling point for me and is still about 50 dollars less than the 650 even accounting for the $100 rebate, just a smaller screen, not an issue in a 928 i would think.

Ben--
The Nuvi is a much thinner unit too. Look at all the dimensions.
The bluetooth feature may or may not be important, especially if you don't care to "speakerphone" in the car while driving. I use a bluetooth headset to keep the noise down, so right now that doesn't add value for me.
One thing that separates the better units for me is the abiliuty to integrate the real-time traffic info onto the screen. One of our locals rode to a 928 clinic on his BMW motorcycle, equipped with a Garmin 680, the one with the traffic receiver built in. He raved about it's ability to make alternate-route decisions for him. Now this is in LA basin traffic. You need to decide how much of a benefit that would be, and whether the traffice service is offered in your area. So when I get a GPS for my own car, I'll be looking carefully for that feature. Time=Money for most of us anyway.

The 360 nuvi i mentioned and the 650 nuvi that is the subject of this thread are both Garmin Nuvi units so i am not sure what you are talking about when you say the Nuvi is a much thinnner unit if i look at all of the dimensions. I can tell you that the 360 is infact the, "Thinner" of the two but I would not consider .87 vs. .90 inches, "much thinner" as you mention. Now obviously the 650 does have larger dimensions of height and width because of the larger screen size.
....But i digress from my original point of fact in stating that the 360 nuvi has the EXACT same features/specs. as the 650 nuvi except for screen size and the 360 has the added benefit of Bluetooth.
