Default What's best angle to shoot a 928? (with a camera)

I have a photographer friend who shoots and sells outdoors and landscape photographs. He's never shot cars before and has offered to photograph mine. To save him time I'd like to suggest to him the "optimal angles" or shots for showing off the 928's "best side/s". I've looked at factory brochure shots and they are nice (and perhaps this is a personal preference issue) but what would you suggest?

I've seen some great 928 fotos and want some nice ones of my cars. Suggestions? Examples? Also, I've seen some pretty fantastic fotos with Photoshopped backgrounds. In other fotos, the backgrounds seem to be carefully chosen. Any advice on the background composition that would best show off the 928 or complement it?

I like some of the front, side, and rear shots I've seen but what about angling shots from above? Or?

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thank you,

H2

DOH!! Uploading now.

I am not sure why the antenna is blurred, fix that and that is my favorite 928 pic of all time.

I have some pics of 928's in my gallery see my sig and there is another thread with LARGE pics I'll try to link to this. Andrew has some cool shots of his OB there that are very cool as well.

Wow...you are asking for outside sources to suggest what a professional who sees art through a camera lens, what to look for. Not sure if I would actually use him, but that's my opinion. A good photographer is one with the camera and sees what others do not. They (should) have vision. No disrespect to he or you, but regardless of the subject matter, you shouldn't have to suggest any angle. That being said, one can never see it all and there is always a time for being humbled.

I am no professional, but when I do take pictures of my cars, I take LOT's!!! I also have a vision of what I am looking for and spend time just looking through the lens at the subject at several angles to find what appeals to me. Background is important as well as lighting.

Here are my favorites...

A friend of mine is car photographer and he usually takes 2 days to set up the perfect shot. He always shoots indoors and uses a lot of lights to accentuate (or hide) the lines. See this example http://www.stephanbayer.com/index.php?site=124&&nav=35

Outdoor photography is different I guess but you/he would still need some lights to get a nice shot.

Keith has the right of it. I've learn from watching him post pics on how to get good quality pics of my own. Sometimes less = more!! You don't have to capture the whole car in each pic, try getting sections at a time with different angles and various light levels and reflections. Those always make for great pictures!!

Those are of Keiths pics not mine, they followed along when I quoted keith. Sorry for the confusion.

I always delete the chrome rings when I upgrade to 8" H4 headlights!!

If you want one that most of us would recognize, how about laying on your back underneath it with an EXTREME close-up of the engine!

I also like the ones that are taken from directly above, kind of shows the 'hips' of the car.

Cue Sir Mixalot...
