Smile Silver Porsche emblems

Greetings,

While on another site, I saw a 996 with a beautiful "silver" hood crest. Does anyone know if these are available from Porsche or some other outside source ?

Thanks for your time.

Randy,

Thanks, I will have to do this from home. The firewall here at work will not allow it. Of course, don't get the idea that I spend all of my time at work checking out Rennlist...

A nice clean look, although a bit pricey.

I adopted the same colour scheme when I handpainted my wheel center caps:

I have a silver car. I used to have a silver emblem and silver center caps but it looked strange, like it was faded from the sun. I replaced it with a new $30 gold emblem and the front of the car looks so much better now. I also painted the center caps and the engine emblem the standard Porsche gold, black, and red. It's amazing what just a touch of gold on the hood and on each center cap will do. It took 10 years off my car.

Regarding the "silver" hood crest (and also on his wheels)--- this individual got his from Ralph Boothe in So Cal. Here's his address: ralphtboothe@adelphia.net Mr. Booth hand-makes customs Porsche items--- and the crest you saw was SILVER-plated (not chrome, or electropolished). They are gorgeous and my Shark is sporting both hood crest and wheel inserts mfg'd. by this man. I get compliments OFTEN.

Regarding the 996 GT2 Turbo you saw.... it is a friend of mine's vehicle and here's some info on it---->

Porsche did ALL of the suspension and engine upgrades on it which has led to over 800hp. The car runs 0-60 in 3.8seconds--- but TRUE performance is 5th and 6th gear over 3400rpm where the vehicle LAUNCHES itself to the next level of speed. I PERSONALLY ran it 70mph in third (test drove on a 35mph side street) and I YANKED the steering wheel side-to-side 120degrees while running at ~45mph and there is NO body lean at all with that suspension. He has 470k in the car as of last month.

You WILL see this car on the cover of Excellence mag in the next 3 months.

And then you should see his 427 Cobra......

Greetings and Happy 4th !

Personally, I really like the look of that silver crest. When I sent an email to the owner of the car on the webpage, he said that I should contact "ByDesign" and he gave me a phone number saying that I should speak to them. Is that where Ralph Booth is from. Anyway, I have now emailed Mr. Booth and will inquire about the cost of these items. I now have some options regarding where to purchase silver crests. If one is too rich, then I can always go to Pelican.

Thanks very much and here is the picture that I saw on that other site.

Rob
