Nice story.

I love driving mine to the local parts store (to work on another car).

The guys inside mostly drive ricers, but a couple of them are just plain car lovers. More than once I've had people ask me what I 'got in there'.

When I say it's a bone stock V8 some will look surprised. Next question is invariably, does it have a turbo? (these kids are so used to turbocharged 4s that they can't imagine a car being fast without it I guess).

One kid asked if it was a six-speed. I told him it was a 5 and he said, "Oh, I like the ones with the six-speeds"

I should have told him that this one goes to eleven!

One of the funniest stories I have is when I drove my 928 to my nephews house when he was around 7.....he was playing out front with a friend....when I pulled up his friend says 'WOW a corvette!" My nephew corrects him...."No stupid...its a Porsche, its better than a corvette!" The friend says "Your right"

Damm that was funny.....

He stepped back a few when I told him I had 4 of them. It's a kick when you get a person around who understands the mechanics and engineering of things to really appreciate what we sometimes forget.

BTW Michael, I STILL LOVE the work you did with the louvers around the bumper inset. Probably the best stock looking S4 *** I have ever seen.
Just screwed up your quote. Should have the conversation AFTER you got your quote........

HA HA THATS AWESOME!

Reminds me when i was in HS and had what i thought was a pretty cool car, a Nissan Maxima SE that was pretty nice. Some little girl, maybe 6-8 or something threw a ball at it when i was outside at a friends house and i said something like hey watch it, and she responded back with "what, its just a Nissan!"

That little b!tch !!!!
