I recently pulled the alternator off of my car and put it back on.

Not too bad, just one bolt above that you don't have to counter hold, and then the tensioning bolt below. Remove the nut from the back if I remember correctly.

My alternator sports a french sounding name. is there supposed to be a fan on the unit to assist it's cooling? This one doesnt have it.
Ive found a possible Bosch replacement- should I stick with rebuilding the one I have? any advantages?

Get the Bosch and keep the pulley off of your old one. Mine was $150 at autozone. I have have had 2 paris rhones crap out. The bosch is a mush better altenator. I am not even running it with the colling hose either.

Much better to have the cooling cowl and hose mounted and functional.

Without it, the alternator fan pulls VERY hot air off of the exhaust manifold. Not much cooling!

Without it, the temperature control system on the HVAC will not work properly. The outside air temp sensor is mounted in the cooling hose.
