Darn. I was trying to schedule a visit to my brother in Kingwood so I could check it out. Doubt if the BOSS would let me have a 4th anyway.

Russ, if you run into a David Wilson in Kingwood don't admit you know me!!!

The car is still available.

doc - Didn't mean to put you off. You asked what's needed, and since I had just posted a huge thread with lots of info, I thought that might answer your questions. I did reply to you according to the PM page. It's kindof hard keeping track of all the PM's though, so I may have missed a message from you.

Dennis - I very much appreciate all the excellent CIS advice as you have provided me over the years. If I had not been stretched so thin, and had more time to focus on the car, it would surely be running.

I have been contacted by two locals that are trying to make arrangements to see the car. I do feel more comfortable with locals since I really think it looks better in the pics than in real life. It's not a bad looking car, just saying I'd be nervous if someone were buying it after only seeing the pics on this thread. There are a lot of small paint flaws that just don't come through on the pics.

Just my luck, in preparation for showing, I charged the battery today, and this afternoon I went out to try to fire it up on a shot of ether, and no luck. It appears I again have no spark. Since the mechanic found the coil bad last year, I'm wondering if current to the coil is not getting shut off when the key is turned off. Does anyone know if that would eventually burn out the coil?

So if you are coming to see the car, and have an extra coil, please bring it!

Here are a couple of sharper engine pictures.

Don,

I would suspect corrosion from nonuse would be the cause of your non spark. Specifically, check the fuel pump relay contacts and the resistors on the panel in front of the left fender well. Also, check for corrosion on the notorious green wire connections.

Dennis, the resistors definately have some rusty connections. Where are the green wire connections?

Dennis

that's funny----

I am going to see it this weekend, per conversation with Don. if we can work out the details, I'll at least put a deposit on it, running or not.

I'd be there sooner, but job prevents me from getting anything done during the week.

let you know on Friday when I can come look, but it's probably going to be Saturday afternoon like we discussed----

Don--

the green wire runs from the passenger side electricals to the distributor, across the front of the engine.

talk to you Friday-

just don't spray any more ether in it... that'll get things messed up in a hurry...
as long as it turns over, someone will get it running in a few days.
my '82 had the same problem when I got it and a new fuel pump, filter, flushing cleaning and timing adjustment got it running .

If you pass, Justin will grab it up. That's closer to me anyway. My son would also like this, but it's for me, not him!
