For once it's not the 928 they break...

Apologies if it's been posted before; did a search but couldn't find anything about it.

Cheers,
Erling

That was great.

I've watched a couple clips of that show and know nothing about it. Of the German language I only know a few engineering phrases and some swear words, so I have trouble following along.

Because it has the narration, I had guessed it was a "dramatic re-enactment of actual events" style show like America's Most Wanted, but after seeing the over-the-top double Mad Max-esque smash-through-trailer stunt in that one... yeah right.

In that clip, sometimes it's a GTS, sometimes it's an S4/GT. Usually when you see two different cars being used like that, it's not a very good ending for one of them. Good to see that neither one ended up as a bunch of scattered parts.

Alarm fur Cobra 11 is German police series which has run for decade or more. They have something like mile long private autobahn build in TV studio grounds where driving sequences are taped. There has been 928's in it several times before. Narration is dubbing done for some Eastern European country. Can't quite figure out what language it is.

No Porsches were harmed in the filming of this.

Some words are universal, and need no translation.

The 911 seemed to take the offramp and subsequent turns a little faster.

Actually I remember one 928 that crashed into a helicopter killing the bad guys - in a big fireball. Seem to recall it was the same German cop show.

Thanks Erkka. I figured it had to have a cult following with so many youtube clips.

Wow, a private studio-autobahn for doing and filming the stunts. I love real stunts, the CGI stuff never works.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
From the Wiki (note: no references given)
"The series is best known for its extremely well done stuntwork, which features the destruction of various vehicles in every episode. Almost every episode has a distinct structure, with at least one daring action sequence and the pre-title sequence usually consisting of the main event (i.e. a devastating crash on the Autobahn). The stuntwork is often so spectacular that it would not look out of place in a full-fledged movie, with cars commonly reaching implausible heights as they vault through the air."
Actually, if you look close, a GTS is only used in a couple sequences, the rest are an S4, with flag mirrors and side strips.
BINGO
GTS in the early sequence than a cup II wheel S4 for the rest.....
But the part where the 3 series sedan gets right on their tail...PLEASE...no chance...any S4+ would smoke that non M3 at highway speeds!
