I have to replace both lower ball joint boots on my 1985. I searched the archives and only found info on replacing the uppers. I looked at the lowers and it looks like the boot is extremely tight fit into the housing/socket for the joint.

Is there any trick to installing the new boots on the lower joint?

Probably going to do the uppers at the same time. I haven't looked closely at mine, don't see leaks but can see the rubber starting to dry out and get ready to break. Sounds likes getting the spring to hold on the new boots is a bear of a job, anyone have a trick to it? Do the new boots come with the holding spring?
