Default Blower Motor squeek noise

Squeek noise drives me crazy. I tried cleaning the dust from the top busing, but the lube just wears off after a while. (I used synth grease)
What's the best lubricant for the bushing that won't wear off? Graphite powder?

Tony,

Haven't had that problem with the 928's but on the 931 I get the fingernails on chalkboard squeak. A few squirts of PB Blaster or WD-40 and it's good for another couple years.

Some of the blower motors can be rebuilt with new brgs but I don't kn w which year it changed. My '88 screamed like a banshee and wasn't rebuildable; I replaced it................another rite of passage I was told.

In the 82 MY. Bottom of the shaft is a bearing, top is just a bushing. Cost to replace is $450.00.
I'll try an electrical store.

Very common....1 of the 1st signs of a dying blower motor...... in theory you could have new bearings installed..... but well running used ones are cheap and pretty easy to find..... the install is pretty easy too...just be sure to pull the hood 1st!
