I always use regular with no problems, and for town driving, I use my energizer Rabbit as a grocery getter: 180,000 miles on it and it purrs along. But I always seem to find some excuse to take the 928 to get groceries in the city 40 miles away !!
I have cut out the late night fun runs though
What we need is to rid the roads of the SUVs so we could see what is happening ahead of us before it happens, and could get the left lane clear <img border="0" alt="[soapbox]" title="" src="graemlins/soapbox.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[bigbye]" title="" src="graemlins/xyxwave.gif" />

It's been turbo diesel driving for me. Cheaper fuel and 30+mpg are fine for the commute to work. Sharky can stretch his legs on the weekends. Even then DIESEL was at 1.75 at last fillup.

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. I don't see my oil company stock going down anytime soon.
Of course, I never go anywhere, so the point is moot... I think my Shark still has $.99 gas in it.

Just one question for Steve J, why a lot of USA petrol company like Exxon buy saudi arabian petrol?
Saudi arabian are terrorist? Not only Iraq?
I think that everything is a question of money including war.
More peace and more gas cheapest!!!!

Max - I regret posting that. Nicole specifically requested this not degenerate into a political discussion.
But, when it's time to fill up, I buy the gas where I can get it and give little thought to where it came from. Filled up with Chevron Supreme yesterday @ $1.77/gal in Dallas. Our European friends are probably paying about that, maybe more, for a liter. I have only been averaging about 12-14mpg around town. Rising gasoline prices have caused me to be more mindful and drive with a lighter foot and use 4th gear more instead of driving around in "3" (auto).

My motor is runnly soomthly on lower-grade gas, but of course that's still $2.00 and higher around here. Recent price increases haven't slowed me down a bit. I've tried driving for fuel effeciency, but it only saves a couple of gallons and makes driving the shark a chore instead of a pleasure. The difference between poor and really bad gas mileage is not enough to matter.
I think if gas hit $3.00 per gallon or close to it, I would seriously examin my fuel budget and consider getting somethign else to commute with. More than $3.00 and there'd be no question. I'd get a nice practical motocycle, maybe start looking at hybrids and turbo diesels for when it rains. I think once gas prices got that high here, the European auto companies would start marketing their gas-savers in the US.

Steve: Thank you for that tip on oil imports. I will most def switch to Sunoco where they will blend your octane rating to your preference.
I've stop drinking French wine while I drive as well????

The shark will continue to eat... the boats a different story. With a 300 gallon tank and burning 30-40 gallons per hour, I think it will soon become a cottage on the water.

Hey, y'all..... c'mon up here and play with us, where we are paying nearly $1.00 a quart (liter) for regular gasoline. <img border="0" alt="[grrrrrrr]" title="" src="graemlins/cussing.gif" /> Rumor has it that we are a net exporter of the stuff, to boot!!! What's with that??? <img border="0" alt="[crying]" title="" src="graemlins/crying.gif" />
Hmmmm fodder for another conspiracy theory, I wager. <img border="0" alt="[soapbox]" title="" src="graemlins/soapbox.gif" />

Well down here we pay an average of 0.95/litre(unleaded) and about $1.00 (Premium) so about $4.00 per US gal. A few years ago we were paying about 0.60-65c.
I'm telling you you just CANNOT not drive these cars, you adjust to the price...MAYBE rationalise the use for a week or two than use it as if nothing happens...It won't happen over night but it will happen

4MIDLIF,
Actually most, if not all of the oil company stocks have gone down in recent months. Way down. The war (or talk of war) is causing the price increases, but that also causes uncertainty on the supply and that is keeping stock prices down. The action in Venezuela did not help stocks either.

I was able to convince my personal banker (wife) that the 931 would be a good investment because of the gas mileage. Only prblem is that it needs premium and I haven't learned how to keep the turbo from kicking in. LOL
