He's not back on the road yet, and he had to get 2 tires. I'm a nervous wreck right now

Ang,
I told him to stay in Santa Rosa and not try and drive home tonight.
Tell him the same will you?

I tried Roger, he won't stay there. I think once he gets over the frustration he'll stop..............at least I hope so!

Drive safe Sean and stop if you get tired, I've scared myself once or twice driving tired.

Thank goodness for that.
When he wakes up tell him he is on the 4.30 flight this afternoon to SC to pick up another 5 speed.
No need to pack as this one has matching luggage 8>)

You all make me smile.

Got a fantastic nights sleep and am getting ready to clean this beast up for delivery to Roger.

Got lots of pictures to share and some stories, get to that later.

Thanks for all the phone calls through the trip and the 1242 text messages from Ang. LOL.

Big thanks to Mark and Jim at 928 International, was fantastic meeting you guys and having free reign to browse "Parts Heaven" and seeing the GTSR in person was great. It's a good thing it was stuck behind 3 other cars, or I might have taken it instead, with Marks bum leg, he couldn't have chased me down. (get well buddy)

Was a great trip except for the tire issues, but there was a reason it happened.

Ok, being the absent minded person that I can be, I didn't take any pics while at International, except on my phone, that I can't get on to my computer, but after I left I got some shots of the country side, which is great. A few pics of the car and this huge hole in the ground in Arizona.

The car is an '89 5 speed, no rub strips, very straight and clean except for the front end. This car drives fantastic when it has tires on it and I have a new appreciation for 5 speed cars. Very fun to drive, but I still do not want one in DFW traffic, or it's my left leg is out of shape....... I do want this car tho

The 1st picture is the best way to describe how it looked when I got stranded for a few hours, there was not a building in site. The town of Santa Rosa didn't have any tires that I needed, nor were there any w/in 50 miles so I took the only 2 in town that would get me home. I figure I can put the 235/40/17's on the front of my '88 so Rog won't be out the cost of tires he won't use. I ended up having a 225/45/17 on the left front, 255/40/17 on left rear, and 235/40/17's on the right side. The little shop I ended up in didn't even have a torque wrench and they charged me $70.00 to come out and plug the tire and air it. Then it was a 20mph trip to the shop for $240.00 in cheap tires.

It's a damn good thing the left rear went down, when I got to the shop I saw the right front had no rubber left on the inside track and it would have blown w/in 100 miles. Got lucky there. The car will get the DFW alignment special.

The little sticker on the rear is from my step daughter, she pinned some sponge bob to my jami's before I left with a note saying to stick "Sandy" on the back and she'd bring me home safe. I've got a great kid.

Glad you made it home in one piece. Why didn't you do an alignment on the side of the road? We did that last year on our way back from SITM with Paul Champaign's car.
