Question CARBON FIBER INTERIOR? 928S4

A friend of mine has offered to make me a dash,
dash pod, console and door panels from carbon fiber and west system epoxy. The weight saving and
hi tech look appeals to me, but should I do it?

I've been toying with the idea of doing the very same thing. Are there good reasons why you shouldn't do it? Can the durability or heat tolerance be an issue, or anything else? Would be very cool

Dan, I sure would love to see it. I think the carbon fiber looks better than our "utilitarian" black.

Keep us posted, costs, pictures, timing, etc.

Dan,

Just curious if you could ask your friend what it would run to create a carbon fiber (or "look alike?") shift pattern insert for a 5 sp? (with the correct shift pattern, obviously...) been looking for one of these for a long time. A possibility, perhaps?

Thanks!

Cool

Dan, I'd love to know what he'd charge for just the pod as mine (will be mine Sat or Sun, YES!) has a small crack in it. I'd like to keep the leather dash as it's in very good shape. If it can be done for less than a replacement pod then I'm in.

I'd be interested in the shift pattern insert as well.

Heck, get him to price it out for you piecemail as I'm sure a lot of us are curious.

Talking

Im interested.
Please keep posting news as son as develop.
I have been toying with that idea for months but I dont have the expertise to do that and dont know where to order a carbon fiber dash.
It would be refreshing to have a new dash and pherhaps new door panels.
Combine that with new carpet and ¡you have a new car!

Dan, I would be interested in this as I would like to start reducing the weight of the 5spd but I dont want to end up with a bare, stripped look to the interior. Keep me posted!

Thumbs up

Wouldn't a black leather/carbon fibre/aluminum accented interior just rock!

If your friend can pull this off, he has a new business.

I'd love to see the results and am interested, too. Add some of Jager's trim and you could make an awesome new interior.

yea but they cost a fortune on the 911s...imagine the price on the MUCH bigger, MORE involved, and FAR LESS in demand 928 dash!
