Post Light on showing on volt gauge

A red light appears on the volt gauge when the car is off. Could it be the alternator? Any suggestions?

See my older post with subject 'success, sort of' . I put on a new rebuilt alternator and got the dash light after shut down problem with it, Wally P suggested a bad diode in the new rebuilt, seems he was, as usual, correct.

lacast,
I am still dancing with O'Rielly's Auto parts.
Their rebuilt was about $165.00 after core swap.
However, I've received 2 bad one's from them and a Honda alt. was in the last Box. As this is a lifetime warranted item it is no financial problem. Having your sHARk down for a month IS.
Replacement due in this morning. I'll let you know.
Advance Auto parts is 'listing' the Bosche and Paris Rhone rebuilds at a steeper price about $40.00 more, comes with a Lifetime Warranty.
If O'rielly's doesn't have it's act together today I'm getting a refund and walking across the street to Advance.
Check recent Alternator post's and reply's for voltage/charging test's before dropping the alt. -which is simple once you are up on ramps. Get ready to start cleaning, bro.
Can be embarassing to find your beautiful sHARk
...doesn't know how to wipe
