Default Anyone interested in trading there 928 for a 951?

As the title indicates, I'm looking for a possible trade. I have a 1987 951 with 70k on it. It has a new complete 3 inch fabspeed exhaust, Autotority DME/KLR chipset, new plugs, new Bilsteins and a new blaupunkt SD27 stereo. The timming belt, water pump, front seals and assy. belts where replaced at 64k. The A/C was upgraded to R134A in 2004 or 2005 and works great. Everything works, it has porsche Cup 93 wheels with new Yokohama AVS tires on it. I also have a set of Clubsport forged wheels included (they need refinishing), a used pwr steering pump and a used header (both sections, no cracks) that are included. There are no rips in the leather but it has two 1.2 inch cracks near the vents on the dash. The car starts and runs perfectly.
These pictures where taken Saturday Feb 23 2008 in my driveway.

I may be...

Too bad you're not closer to test drive.

Mine has some issues though -- A/C not working, torn rear CV boot, possible rear bearing noise, odometer stopped last week...it does look nice though!

Here's a video we made today - 29 Feb: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_I_57SJPks

Send me a PM if interested and any additional owner history on yours you may have. Mike

Finally seeing the light, I moved on from a 951 to the 928 and have not once thought about going back. It's all about inches and one can't go wrong with having allot more inches. You all know I meant Cubic Inches, right? If you want to go for a ride in a SC S4 I am just down the road from you in Findlay.

Thanks wolf pack! This is my 3rd 951 and I'd like to try something else.
Now, what about that ride!

Anytime as soon as the snow goes away we could hook up in BG. My wife and I looked at a white 951 a few years ago in your neck of the woods and I wonder if it was one of your's? I am sure we looked at one in Ottawa Hill's and it was a white one that was under a car cover in the driveway when we pulled up.

My 928 is not a typical 928 (it is an Auto) 1st off it has the Murf Super Charger, no cats and Rear Muffler Bypass so when you hear it you WILL WANT IT. Having had both and our 951 was tricked out with some Lindsey stuff I really love the 928 more then the 951. There are a few 944's around but I have the only 928 that appears to be driven. There are some around but they seem to just be sitting. The 951 is a sweet ride and with some Dave Lindsey mods they can be very very fast. It felt very light and had a light go juice pedal. The 928 is more Brute and you need to squash the go pedal but when you do WOW. 2 very different cars that need to be driven very different as well. PM me and we will take a look at the calender and see what we can work out.

Wolf pack,
Yeap, that was my 89 you looked at. The guy who bought it lived in PA and turned it into a track day car/driver. It just sold on ebay about a month ago.

Do you have a certain year or type of car in mind? <Pre-85><85-86><86.5><87+>?

Generally speaking:
The pre-85s have a 4.7L engine and they come in US, ROW and Euro, (the Euro has the juice!) then the 85 starts the 5.0L engine.

What about auto vs. manual? There are more autos than 5 spds available, but it's a preference thing.

I don't know about the values for 951s, about what is your car worth? (I know, very subjective) but I want to know what ballpark you're in.

That's a nice looking car, I find myself looking at it more than I should

BTW, what's up with the engine compartment being full with no empty areas? An engine compartment is like a flat surface in the shop, stuff just finds its way there.

Thanks for the compliments! I am looking for either a auto or manual. I'd like to find an 86 or newer. Color is not important.

Nice looking 951!!! I'm sure a well running 951 with a couple mods is a very fun car to drive.... Different than a 928, but still fun!!

I do think it will be hard to "trade" a 951 for a 928....it might be easier to sell the 951 and use the $$$ to get a 928..

I may be selling my US '86. I still haven't decided yet, since I have yet to drive the S/C '91 GT I bought that hasn't arrived yet
