Post Brake Upgrade

I am getting the brakes/rotors from a '91 S4...what all is necessary/steps involved/etc in adaptingthem to my '85 EURO.

Any of the usual website pics?

You will need to get early 1978-81 front spindles to use the "adapters" to mount the fronts OR you need the complete S-4 front suspension ! the rear is easy couple spacers but the fronts mount entirely different .

Hey Mark,

Is that why that auction ended early on E-Bay? LOL

That was the complete suspension, wasn't it?

Mark,

Do a search for S4 brake upgrade and you should find a post by me which describes in detail every step. You need the adaptors, 993 front rotors (not S4 front rotors), S4/993 front and rear calipers and early spindles. 928 Intl or 928 Specialists have all the hardware and pads as well. Email me with any questions and I will be happy to answer them. Otherwise the vendors listed above can also answer any questions.

Good luck <a href="http://forums.rennlist.com/forums/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=14;t=002085#000002" target="_blank">Here</a>

DEVEK also has the all types of brake adapters for brake upgrades in steel and lots of brake kits for all years...up to big reds all around!Been making them for years.

If you want aluminum, use the 944 adapters and early spindles....lots available and low cost, just make sure that you torque them often. The CTE of the steel bolt and an alum bracket are critical for the bolts to remain torqued after many heat cycles.

That is why club racing does not allow alloy lugnuts and steel studs...must use steel lugs!
