Exclamation HELP! Window is stuck down!

I thought I had it fixed but nope, the window switch gremlin is back. I notice that the amperage guage moves only when pressing it in the down position. Same thing when pushing the passenger window switch in either direction. I assume its the switch?

Does anyone know a way to get the window back up until I can get a new switch or have a mechanic look at it?

Dshulik,
Connect e-power direct to the el motor - You can do that in several ways:
1. If you have the el-diagram, find the colour of the wires, and connect el direct to these, there is a connector in each side under the dashboard (follow the wires coming from the door via the flexible covering)
2. If (no 1) is not possible, remove the door covering and get access to the el-motor and connect the power

You can try the brute force option - if this is the passenger window that is playing up then hold down the switch and try banging the door hard on the inside panel below and forward of the bits and pieces tray - you may find the the window lurches upwards! My son played with mine and got it stuck down - a few hefty belts got it up again as temporary fix.

To remove the door panel and remove the motor is not a big job - I found that the passenger motor (due to it's lack of use probably) was slightly corroded on the magnet and armature - dismantling it carefully cleaning with WD40 and wet & dry samndpaper restored it's function - is is noisier than it should be and I would not want to use it ebery day this way but it gets it back going again for casual use. If you want a more detailed help on stripping the door down let me know.

whoops! - found your first posting now and realise it is a switch problem you have not the motor.........sorry! Suggest that swapping switches to get you out of a bind is the way forward - if you can live without the sunroof one (and have one fitted) use that one to keep the passenger side working.

good luck......Andy
